Commissioned by The Brass Cruise Committee of Yokohama
In 2006 The Yokohama Wind Symphony was established, to perform in The Brass Cruise, Yokohama Kaikosai (°»Thanks to the Port°…) Charity Brass Band Concert. The band was organized to encourage citizens°« cultural activity, and to promote Japanese wind music originating in Yokohama. This festival band consists of more than 200 members who were all publicly recruited. The band invited Satoshi Yagisawa to be their conductor in 2007. Fanfare °»Mi-Chi-Bi-Ki°…, written by Satoshi Yagisawa, and commissioned by The Brass Cruise Committee of Yokohama, was first performed as a brilliant opening piece. °»Mi-Chi-Bi-Ki°… is the name of a bronze statue in Yokohama. This fanfare shares the hope expressed by that statue; to lead the world to peace.
